The Rockets lost in overtime to the lowly Clippers in L.A. on April 23, so they came out charging and never trailed.

``This was a great win for us,'' Pippen said. ``It's always good to get everyone involved in the offense. We needed a good one like this where our starters could rest. Charles had great energy and that got us going.''

The Clippers did throw a minor scare into the Rockets when they trimmed a 20-point deficit near the end of the third quarter to 86-74 with 7:06 to play.

That's when the Rockets put on a 3-point shooting show to blow out the Clippers. The Rockets had seven 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and were 11 for 21 overall from beyond the arc. The Clippers were 3 for 12 from 3-point range.

``Me and Scottie had a long talk, I said, `If we're going down, let's go Let's Go may refer to: Television

Pippen started the Rockets' run with the first of his three fourth-quarter 3-pointers and they went ahead 108-78 with 1:32 left in the game. Sam Mack also hit two 3-pointers in the run.

``If he sticks to his guns, we will run,'' Pippen said of Barkley. ``We'll just have to wait and see if he does that.''

Hakeem Olajuwon scored 20 points and had five steals and Pippen finished with 14 points as seven Rockets finished in double figures.

``Coming off the bench, I'm trying to get the team going in whatever way I can,'' Mack said. ``We were able to push the ball up court and we like to run anyway because we (the second unit) are all shooters.''

Troy Hudson led the Clippers with 20 points, while Maurice Taylor had 18.

``They played well throughout,'' Clippers coach Chris Ford said. ``They're trying to play for a homecourt advantage. They just came out and dominated. We tried to get the ball down low to Michael (Olowokandi) but it seemed anytime we went in to Michael, Hakeem ha·keem
