Forgotten how those serialized shows' cliffhangers end? Us too. So here's a reminder where the following shows left off last season, so you'll be caught up when these shows return this fall ("Lost" and "24" won't return until midseason):

"Heroes" (9 p.m. Monday, NBC NBC
 in full National Broadcasting Co.

Major U.S. commercial broadcasting company. It was formed in 1926 by RCA Corp., General Electric Co. (GE), and Westinghouse and was the first U.S. company to operate a broadcast network.
 Channel 4; returns Sept. 24): Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) appeared to have died saving the world. Parkman (Greg Grunberg) got shot, and Sylar (Zachary Quinto) escaped, again. And, for good measure, Hiro (Masi Oka) found himself in 17th-century Japan.

"House" (9 p.m. Tuesday, Fox Channel 11; Sept. 25): House's (Hugh Laurie) support team finally realized what a jerk he was and either quit or got fired.

"Grey's Anatomy" (9 p.m. Thursday, ABC ABC
 in full American Broadcasting Co.

Major U.S. television network. It began when the expanding national radio network NBC split into the separate Red and Blue networks in 1928.
 Channel 7; Sept. 27): Isaiah Washington had to go, so Preston left Cristina (Sandra Oh) at the altar. Much weeping ensued. George (T.R. Knight) failed his final exam. Much weeping ensued. Romantic entanglements continued apace.

"Desperate Housewives" (9 p.m. Sunday, ABC; Sept. 30): Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) apparently hanged herself. Susan (Teri Hatcher) married Mike (James Denton), and Gabrielle (Eva Longoria) married Victor (John Slattery), only to learn he's exploiting her for his political campaign, the dirtbag dirt·bag

" (9 p.m. Thursday, CBS Channel 2; Sept. 27): It looked like curtains for Sara (Jorja Fox), who was kidnapped and in a car crash.

"Brothers and Sisters" (10 p.m. Sunday, ABC; Sept. 30): Justin (Dave Annable) was headed to Iraq, and nothing good can come of that. Sarah's (Rachel Griffiths) marriage collapsed further.

"Law & Order: SVU" (10 p.m. Tuesday, NBC; Sept. 25): Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Fin (Ice-T) had troubles with relatives that threatened their own careers, while Stabler's (Christopher Meloni) estranged es·trange

" (8 p.m. Tuesday, CBS; Sept. 25): DiNozzo's (Michael Weatherly) girlfriend Jeanette (Scottie Thompson) was revealed to be the daughter of the sought-after arms dealer La Grenouille (Armand Assante), who was also revealed to have had ties with Director Shepard (Lauren Holly).

"Shark" (10 p.m. Sunday, CBS; Sept. 23): Shark's (James Woods) boss (Jeri Ryan) got the ax, but he invited her back to work for him. His daughter (Danielle Panabaker) was considering moving to New York to be with her mom.

"Prison Break" (8 p.m. Monday, Fox; Sept. 17): Michael (Wentworth Miller) got tossed in the slammer A worm that caused a billion dollars worth of damage on the Internet on January 25, 2003. Slammer infected computers all over the Internet by generating random IP addresses and causing the computer's buffer to overflow with its own instructions that replicate itself and start the process  - again - only this time it's in Panama, where we'll wager the cafeteria not being up to code is the least of his worries. Now Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) has to bust his little brother out of the big house.

"Cold Case" (9 p.m. Sunday, CBS; Sept. 23): Lily (Kathryn Morris) and Stillman (John Finn) were shot and left for dead.

"Bones" (8 p.m. Tuesday, Fox; Sept. 25): Bones' (Emily Deschanel) father (Ryan O'Neal) gave her a video of her late mother and a ring that may help her find her siblings.

"How I Met Your Mother How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) is a CBS sitcom that premiered on September 19, 2005. Created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays, the show received generally positive reviews. " (8p.m. Monday, CBS; Sept. 24): Ted (Josh Radnor) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) broke up, again, just as Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) were getting married.

"The Office" (9 p.m. Thursday, NBC; Sept. 27): Michael (Steve Carell) sold his condo, thinking he was getting promoted to New York. Instead, the gig went to Ryan (B.J. Novak). Oh, and Pam (Jenna Fischer) and Jim (John Krasinski) inched closer to their big first date.

"My Name Is Earl My Name Is Earl is an Emmy Award-winning American sitcom created by Greg Garcia. It is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. It is currently in its third season and is broadcast on the NBC television network Thursdays at 8:00 PM Eastern time. " (8 p.m. Thursday, NBC; Sept. 27): Earl (Jason Lee) got sent to the slammer after taking the rap for Joy (Jaime Pressly).

"Friday Night Lights" (9 p.m. Friday, NBC; Oct. 5): The team's victory in the state championship was diluted by news that Coach Taylor (Kyle Chandler) had accepted a college coaching job.

"Ugly Betty," (8 p.m. Thursday, ABC; Sept. 27): Betty's (America Ferrera) sister's fiance, Santos, was killed in a convenience-store heist.

"Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" (8 p.m. Thursday, Fox): The answer seems to be, "No."
