CLEVER GROWTH INDUSTRY FESTIVAL TO SHOW PLANTS HANDY FOR ARTS, CRAFTS.Byline: Daily News PALMDALE - Some 45 artisans and merchants will sell decorated gourds and craft supplies at the sixth annual Gourd gourd (gôrd, g  rd), common name for some members of the Cucurbitaceae, a family of plants whose range includes all tropical and subtropical areas and extends into the temperate zones. Festival today and Sunday at the Tree Mover Tree and Gourd Farm. Gourds can be turned into musical instruments, human and animal figures, bowls, vases and other objects, festival organizers say.
