 CLEMENTE TO HEAD NEW CORPORATE AFFAIRS DIVISION
 AT PFIZER; MILLER RESPONSIBLE FOR LEGAL DIVISION
 NEW YORK, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- William C. Steere, Jr., chairman and chief executive officer of Pfizer Inc, today announced the formation of a new Corporate Affairs Division to be headed by C. L. Clemente. Mr. Clemente, who was elected a senior vice president of the company, will continue as corporate secretary. Paul S. Miller, also elected a senior vice president, is responsible for the Legal Division as general counsel.
 "With this new division," Mr. Steere said, "we are combining corporate governance, communications and public affairs. This will enable us to better deal with our key audiences on the public policy issues critical to the company."
 Now reporting to Mr. Clemente are: M. Kenneth Bowler, vice president, Federal Government Relations, and Robert L. Shafer, vice president, Public Affairs, both are vice presidents of the company; Anthony A. Biesada, director, Corporate Media Relations; Andrew B. Heath, director, Corporate Communications; Terence J. Gallagher, vice president, Corporate Governance and assistant secretary, and Lillian Fernandez, director, International Affairs, both of the Legal Division; Rebecca Schiff, director, Investor Relations, and Elaine Williams, director, Employee Communications.
 Reporting to Mr. Miller are Daniel P. Cronin, Steven C. Kany, Peter C. Richardson and Robert C. Ross, all senior assistant general counsels; Marvin R. Frank, William G. McCreery and Michael Richardson, all assistant general counsels and assistant secretaries, as well as Dorothy B. Burke and George W. Evans, both assistant general counsels; Kay Kintner, director, Legal Administration, and George C. Cotsonas, controller.
 Mr. Clemente, who holds an A.B. from Holy Cross and an LLB from Columbia University, joined Pfizer in 1964 as an attorney in the Corporate Legal Division. In 1971, he was made a vice president of Coty and, in 1974, vice president and general counsel of Pfizer International and secretary and member of the board of Pfizer International. He was appointed associate general counsel of Pfizer in 1983. In 1986 he was elected vice president and general counsel of the company, as well as secretary to the board of directors. He was named to the Corporate Management Committee in 1991.
 Mr. Miller holds an A.B. and an LLB from Rutgers University. He joined Pfizer in 1971 as an attorney in the Corporate Legal Division became assistant secretary/assistant general counsel in 1975 and associate general counsel in 1983. He was elected vice president and general counsel in 1986 when he was named secretary for the Corporate Management Committee. He became a member of the Corporate Management Committee last year.
