PASADENA - Jimmy Clausen James Richard "Jimmy" Clausen (born September 21, 1987, in Thousand Oaks, California[3]) is an American football player. He is a quarterback at the University of Notre Dame.  still has a ways to go to live up to the heritage of his brothers Casey and Ricky, but the Oaks Christian High sophomore quarterback began his own legacy against Muir High of Pasadena on Friday night.

In his first varsity start, Clausen passed for 261 yards and three touchdowns to lift Oaks Christian to a 35-14 nonleague victory at Muir High.

It was the first full game for the Clausen, whose brothers are Casey and Ricky. Casey was on hand on Friday night to lend encouragement to Jimmy.

``I am just trying to do what they have done,'' Jimmy said about his brothers. ``I am just trying to follow in their footsteps and learn from them and do everything to the best of my ability.''

Clausen completed only four of his first 10 passes but finished 17of 29 against Muir, a Southern Section Div. III school. During one stretch, Clausen completed 9 of 11 passes in the second and third quarters. He also had two passes intercepted.

``When he had to scramble, he kept his poise,'' sophomore receiver Sean Wiser said. ``He did all he could. He just brushes off the stuff about his brothers and did his own thing.''
