The West Valley Symphony Orchestra Valley Symphony Orchestra could mean:
  • Valley Symphony Orchestra (LAVC), of the Los Angeles Valley College in California,
  • Valley Symphony Orchestra (McAllen, Texas)
 will continue its 1995-96 season with a concert of works by Mendelssohn and Rachmaninoff at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Pierce College In 2006 the Library won a national Excellence award. Academics
Pierce College offers associate's degrees, mainly in the arts and sciences. There are also certificate programs in early childhood education, social services, dental hygienist, and others.

The concert will feature pianist David Pinto performing Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 2 in C Minor.

Founded 15 years ago, the West Valley Symphony is led by maestro James Domine and performs a series of concerts each year throughout Southern California.

The Music Center's other halls include the Mark Taper Forum, Ahmanson Theatre, and Walt Disney Concert Hall. . Russian pianist Alexander Toradze will return to perform Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor.

The program will begin with Debussy's "Prelude a l'apres-midi dun faune," followed by Toradze and the Rachmaninoff. After intermission, the Feb. 2 and 4 concert will conclude with Debussy's "Images."

Concerts begin at 8 p.m. Feb. 2-3 and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion is at 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles. Tickets range from $6 to $58 and can be purchased by calling (213) 365-3500.

Classical music lovers can treat their valentine to a gala night of cabaret music by singer Bobby Short and mezzo-soprano mezzo-soprano: see soprano.  Frederica von Stade Frederica von Stade (June 1, 1945), is an American mezzo-soprano. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, she acquired the nickname Flicka in her childhood. Miss von Stade attended the Mannes College of Music in New York City.  on Feb. 14 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

The duo will perform amid the sets of "Cosi fan tutte," the next Los Angeles Opera The Los Angeles Opera is an opera company in Los Angeles, California, United States. The company's home base is the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, part of the Los Angeles Music Center.  production, set to open Feb. 27. The on-stage gala benefits the opera company, now in its 10th year.

The evening will include a silent auction of opera-related items, including a backstage seat during an L.A. Opera performance, and travel packages that include trips to a major city opera.
