Carlo Curley Carlo Curley (b. 24 August 1952, North Carolina, U.S.) is a flamboyant and popular classical concert organist, sometimes dubbed the "Pavarotti of the organ". He is one of only a few concert organists worldwide who supports himself exclusively by giving recitals, without supplement  and Thomas Trotter will put two specially hired electric organs through their paces in Organ Extravaganza, a fundraising concert in aid of the appeal.

Performing both solos and duets, the two performers will give just a flavour of what the Symphony Hall can expect when the real thing is installed later this year.

Work has already commenced on the installation of the organ, the largest wooden pipes arrived by narrow boat last summer and have been positioned at the back of the organ case.

In March, the finished organ will be provisionally assembled in the Klais workshop before being dismantled and packed for shipping.

The final stage of installation will take place over a 12-week period from mid-June during which each of the organ's 6000 pipes will be tuned by hand.

Inaugural events are planned for October and will be the crowning glory of the hall's 10th anniversary year.
