Corvettes usually were flush-decked and carried fewer than 28 guns. They were widely employed in escorting convoys and attacking merchant ships during the great naval wars of the late 18th and owned by Danielle Bartoli of Simi Valley and a 1923 Ventura County sheriff's car owned by Joe Fratella of Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown. will be among the 50 classic cars featured Sunday at the ``Reagan Retrospective,'' car show. ``It's always fun to show our cars and talk with people.'' said Bartoli, who is a member of the Simi Valley Corvette Club. ``It brings back memories of a bygone era and people appreciate that the old cars have been restored.'' The event, a celebration of the former president's 89th birthday, will also include showing of the new Reagan California license plate. The event is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Center for Public Affairs and Museum, 40 Presidential Drive, Simi Valley. The car show is free. A reception will include a western-style barbecue and country western music. The price is $15 for adults and free for children under 12 accompanied by an adult.
