CLASSIC CAR PARTY TO ROCK GLENDALE.

GLENDALE - Thousands of people are expected to gawk, ooh ooh

 and aah Saturday as car enthusiasts roll out the classics - Mustangs, Shelbys, T- Birds, Chevys, Pontiacs - for the 12th annual Cruise Night and Street Party on Brand Boulevard.

The free event along three blocks of Glendale's main drag between Wilson Avenue and Milford Street will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Classic tunes from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason, the Three Bad Jacks and Link Wray Fred Lincoln "Link" Wray Jr (May 2, 1929 – November 5, 2005) was an American rock and roll guitar player most noted for pioneering a new sound for electric guitars in his hit 1958 instrumental "Rumble", by Link Wray and his Ray Men.  will play in the background.

``We wanted to make this a true classic car show,'' said Ritch Wells, a spokesman for the event. ``It's one of the best I've ever seen.''

Car enthusiast A person who enjoys using computers and electronic equipment. Enthusiasts like technology and are willing to learn more of the ins and outs of a product than the average consumer, who just wants to use it. An enthusiast is more like a "prosumer." He'll be lining up his Jeep this weekend next to some of his favorites.

Ten volunteers will judge the cars and award 10 trophies to the best ones. In addition to the cars and music, restaurants will be offering food, and there will be games for the kids.

Pre-registration for entering cars is closed, but organizers have established a holding lot at North Central Avenue and West Doran Street for same-day registration for $30 on a first-come, first-served “FCFS” redirects here.
