CLASSES RESUME AT KENNEDY AFTER SHOOTING.

Byline: Jesse Hiestand Daily News Staff Writer

Kennedy High School returned to its normal schedule of classes and activities on Wednesday, a day after a truant student allegedly shot at a police officer.

Detectives believe the teen who opened fire on the officer was a student because of his age and because the shooting took place near the campus in the Bull Creek Bull Creek can refer to the following locations:

``Unfortunately that (clothing description) fits 99 percent of the kids that go there, so that's why we're trying to handle this in another fashion,'' said Lt. Joe Eddy of the Devonshire Division.

The teen was being chased by a Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police officer about noon Tuesday when he dashed into the wash and fired one round from a handgun in the officer's direction, police said. Despite an intensive, four-hour search, the teen eluded police dogs, helicopters and dozens of officers by apparently ducking into a tunnel that runs under the campus.

``The officer held his ground and the suspect continued back into that tunnel area and disappeared,'' Eddy said. ``There's a natural conclusion that he may have made his way back to school, but there's no way to know that.''

Since the campus was locked down until 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, there was no time to inform students or their parents about the shooting and search, Fries said. Instead, that was done Wednesday when Principal Warren Mason sent students home with a letter briefly explaining the reasons for the lockdown Lockdown
