PALMDALE - Palmdale School District The Palmdale School District is a school district that serves a major part of the city of Palmdale, California (USA).

The Palmdale School District was first formed in 1888. Approximately 28,000 students are enrolled in the Palmdale School District.
plans to build additional classrooms as part of a $1.8 million expansion of a school for special-education students who are severely emotionally disturbed.

The Yellen Learning Center opened in September for students in kindergarten kindergarten [Ger.,=garden of children], system of preschool education. Friedrich Froebel designed (1837) the kindergarten to provide an educational situation less formal than that of the elementary school but one in which children's creative play instincts would be  through eighth grade from throughout the Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. ``The superintendent's council met and decided they were going to look into putting a second building on the property and expanding the program,'' said Lori Ordway-Peck, assistant superintendent Assistant Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was a rank used by police forces in the British Empire. It was usually the lowest rank that could be held by a European officer, most of whom joined the police at this rank. .

The school, near 47th Street East and Avenue S, was developed with state funds. The Palmdale School District is the lead agency in the project also involving other Antelope Valley school districts and county government.

At a meeting today, the Palmdale board will consider hiring architects for the expansion. The project is expected to take a year to complete, Ordway-Peck said.

Ordway-Peck said the addition will be funded with remaining money from a state grant of nearly $6 million.

The 28,777-square-foot center currently has an enrollment of about 40 students, school officials said.

by the Yellen family, which sold the adjacent land at Avenue S and 47th Street East for a Wal-Mart store that was approved by voters in November 2000 under Measure T. The family also donated land for a park.

The Yellen school will save money for local school districts, which have had to pay tuition For tuition fees in the United Kingdom, see .

Tuition means instruction, teaching or a fee charged for educational instruction especially at a formal institution of learning or by a private tutor usually in the form of one-to-one tuition.
and residence fees for some of these students at private facilities out of the area because appropriate services were not available locally.

On average, Antelope Valley districts had been sending 45 to 50 students away for special education each year. Palmdale sends off three to four students a year - to places as far away as Utah or Texas - at an annual cost of $25,000 to $100,000.

Regular public schools usually do not have the space needed for working with students who are severely emotionally disturbed.
