QUARTZ HILL - Quartz Hill High School graduates from the Class of 1959 will reunite for their 45th anniversary.

The reunion will be 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Antelope Valley Country Club.

``We've been able to locate about half of our 400 classmates and so far, we have about 90 confirmed reservations,'' said Annette (Sims) McCormick, one of the organizers.

The optional dress theme will be '50s outfits or dressy casual.

``Everybody's going to want to look nice to impress everybody else, but we'll still want to be comfortable,'' said Susan Hamilton, a former homecoming queen who now lives in Glendale.

The Quartz Hill High '59 graduates hold a reunion every five years.

Reservations are still being taken.

Tickets are $100 per couple or $55 each. They include a gourmet dinner, a memory book featuring all who attend and a directory of all those who have been located.

``If there's anyone out there who hasn't been contacted and wants to come, we'll be glad to see them and get them on the mailing list for future parties,'' McCormick said.

A disc jockey will provide music for dancing, and one graduate who has a Hollywood photography studio will take pictures throughout the evening, said McCormick.

``There are still four couples of us who married classmates and have remained married all these years and we'll all have a lot to talk about,'' he said.

Among those are Steve and Beverly Rumpf. Steve Rumpf, who was senior class president, is now a minister. He will be unable to attend since he will be on an overseas mission trip.

The three other couples are Annette and Ray McCormick, John and Carol Sylvies and Susan (Moline) and Ron Hamilton.

``Mostly we'll just talk about old times and new times and look each other over to see who's aged the most, who has the most gray hair and who's weathered all the years pretty well, that sort of thing,'' said McCormick.

``We'll probably even show off pictures of our kids and grandkids and do a lot of bragging about them,'' she said. ``One thing we know is, we'll have a lot of fun.''

Menus for the week at the senior life nutrition sites in Lancaster and Palmdale have been announced. All meals include bread, margarine and coffee, tea or milk, for a suggested donation of $2.

Monday: Ham slice, sweet potatoes, green beans, creamy coleslaw, chocolate chip cookies.

Tuesday: Turkey cacciatore, tomato/rice soup, peas and carrots, tossed salad, juice, apple.

Wednesday: Roast beef, mashed potatoes, winter squash, garden salad, lime gelatin with fruit.

Thursday: Chicken casserole, vegetable soup, Spanish rice, corn nibblets, marinated beets, citrus cup.

Friday: Spaghetti and meatballs, Normandy vegetables, lettuce and tomato salad, tapioca pudding.
