CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST DATA GENERAL DISMISSED
WESTBORO, Mass., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Data General Corporation

(NYSE: DGN) today announced that Judge Rya Zobel of the U.S. District Court in Boston has dismissed a class action suit brought against the company and certain of its officers and directors.
The suit, entitled Pinkowitz vs. Data General, had been filed in July 1990. The suit alleged that the defendants had made materially false and misleading statements concerning the company's financial performance and prospects during the period from May 11, 1990, to July 27, 1990.
In dismissing the suit, Judge Zobel noted that the plaintiff had provided no factual support for the "hypothetical tale of deception" that had been alleged in the complaint.
