CLASP releases publication on reducing poverty.

"Seizing the Moment: State Governments and the New Commitment to Reduce Poverty in America." This joint report discusses the efforts 15 states have taken to address poverty concerns, including commissions, poverty-reduction targets, legislative caucuses, summits and other initiatives. It also offers charts detailing these actions by particular policy area. The publication furthers the endeavors of many national research, think tank and advocacy organizations to help establish the issue of poverty on the national political agenda. All three leading presidential candidates, in concert with growing state efforts, are on record with a public commitment to address poverty and opportunity in the United States.
