With the advent of portable handheld computers becoming the norm in business and in our daily lives, it was inevitable that the educational environment would realize that wireless connectivity on campus would enrich the learning experience of students using handheld computers. Consolidated High School District 230 in Orland Park, Illinois Orland Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States; it also extends slightly into Will County. The population was 51,077 at the 2000 census, and estimated to be 55,461 as of 2005. , a Chicago suburb, started its Palm Handheld Infrared Beaming program to teach teachers about Palm handheld-based learning programs.
