CJP rejects report of DPO on the incident of burning alive of 5 women in Balochistan.ISLAMABAD, 14 April , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has rejected the report furnished by DPO Nasir Abad in the court about burning alive of 5 women in Balochistan and has directed report worked out under former Director General National Police Bureau Tariq Khosa with respect to this incident be presented in the court today. A 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) comprising chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, justice Raja Fayyaz and justice Chaudhry Ejaz Ahmad took up the case for hearing on Tuesday. Advocate General Balochistan (AGB) Salah ud Din Mengal and DPO Nasir Abad Nazim ud Din Shah were present in the court. Presenting the inquiry report of the incident in the court, AGB took the stance two women were burnt alive as per investigations and the media report about 5 women was baseless in this respect. CJP remarked as per his information 5 women were burnt alive and I had taken suo moto notice. DPO Nasir Abad informed 11 persons involved in this event had been arrested and they were under investigation. I have inspected the site of the incident and bodies of two women were found there, he told. AGB informed this report was held by federal government. In the light of inquiry report evolved by Tariq Khosa, former DPO Nasir Abad Nasib Ullah was made OSD, DPO submitted. CJP directed that report on this incident which was prepared under Taria Khosa be presented in the court. (THROUGH ASIA PULSE) |
