CIVISnet and Wayzata School District To Launch Web Community.

CIVISnet's SchoolExtra(TM) Will Enable

Schools to Improve Communications and Raise Funds

CIVISnet, a school-focused technology company based in Minneapolis Minneapolis (mĭn'ēăp`əlĭs), city (1990 pop. 368,383), seat of Hennepin co., E Minn., at the head of navigation on the Mississippi River, at St. Anthony Falls; inc. 1856. , announced today that the Wayzata School District will use its SchoolExtra(TM) service to boost communications for the 2000-2001 school year. A CIVISnet technology team will work with the schools to build a Web community that will increase communication between teachers, parents, and students, as well as raise funds through a school e-store.

The Wayzata School District is establishing trial sites for Wayzata High School Wayzata High School is a high school in Plymouth, Minnesota, a suburb of Minneapolis-St. Paul. The high school, operated by the Wayzata School District, has approximately 3,200 students, from grades 9 to 12. The remaining eight schools in the district hope to implement SchoolExtra(TM) in upcoming months.

CIVISnet's SchoolExtra(TM) includes easy-to-use Web self-publishing tools and the necessary training and support to enable schools to:

administrators, and parents that is accessible from home, school, the office,
or anywhere with Internet access;

-- develop an effective communication channel to share local, school-specific
content;

-- build a school e-store from which a portion of proceeds are directed back to
the school.


The SchoolExtra(TM) service is available to schools for little or no up-front investment.
