Mayor Paul Lawrason will give the official coin toss at Moorpark College's first home football game Saturday night, when the City Council will join neighborhood fans to cheer on the Moorpark Raiders.

Lawrason, who also gave the coin toss last year, said home games give locals the chance to support college events while bringing the entire community together.

``This college is a very significant part of what happens in our city,'' Lawrason said. ``This is a nice opportunity to be part of it.''

This is the second year the college has come up with a different theme for each home game, Keever said. He has found that the themes create more community interest in athletic events at the college.

``We're just trying to get the city to be involved with us as much as possible,'' Keever said. ``It's important for the local community to be involved with the college, and important for the college to be involved with the community.''

Other themes for home games this year include Moorpark Country Days and Chamber of Commerce Night. In October, Youth Sports Night
