``I've been wanting to play San Pedro ever since I've been here. You want to play the best,'' Salazar said after her team's 2-0 victory over Canoga Park on Thursday.

``We want to go all the way and if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.''

The victory put San Fernando (19-9) into the City quarterfinals for the first time in school history. San Fernando will play at No. 1 San Pedro on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Salazar, who will pitch for Cal State Northridge next season, struck out 10 and yielded only two hits Thursday. Canoga Park pitcher Stacy Milne also pitched well. She struck out seven and gave up three hits, but the Hunters committed five errors behind her, leading to both San Fernando runs.
