CITY SECTION ROUNDUP: SYLMAR SCORES BIG OVER VAN NUYS.

Sylmar (6-1, 2-0) scored its first 16 points before its offense touched the ball and routed host Van Nuys 72-0 in a Valley Mission League game Friday night.

(1-6, 0-2) in the Valley Mission League.

Juan Guerra and Raul Waller returned first-quarter punts for touchdowns and C.J. Gamble had touchdown runs of 4, 21 and 55 yards. He finished with 179 yards on seven carries.

Sylmar's Jeremy Martin blocked a punt for a safety.

Kyle Ochoa was 11 of 24 for 63 yards for Van Nuys (1-6, 0-2).

--North Hollywood 56, Hollywood 14: Marlon Lucky rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries for host North Hollywood.

Lucky scored on runs of 9, 5 and 17 yards and added a 23-yard touchdown catch.

Stasilli had five catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Grant's defense held Verdugo Hills to 50 yards of offense and had 10 sacks.

NORTHERN LEAGUE

--Marshall 28, Eagle Rock 25: Host Eagle Rock allowed two fourth-quarter touchdowns in the upset loss to Marshall of Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  (4-4, 1-2).

Eagle Rock (5-2, 2-1) had a chance to force overtime when it took over at its 12-yard line with 52 seconds left. Jeremy Camacho completed four consecutive passes and had a 13-yard scramble To encode (encrypt) data in order to make it indecipherable without having a secret key to "unlock" it. The term came from the early days of cryptography which camouflaged analog transmissions with secret frequency patterns.  to give Eagle Rock a first down at the Marshall 25e with four seconds left. But Paul Zuber's 42-yard field goal attempt went wide left.
