CITY SECTION ROUNDUP: MONROE HURLS CLEVELAND OFF ITS PERCH BELTRAN, VIKINGS DEFENSE DOMINATE.

Steve Beltran threw three touchdown passes in the second quarter to lead visiting Monroe High to a 49-0 victory over previously unbeaten Cleveland in a non-league game Friday night.

The Vikings (1-2), coming off a forfeit loss to Canoga Park because of a mix-up with medical emergency forms, took control of the game from the outset, scoring on its first possession on a 3-yard run by Lonail Derby.

In the second qurter, Beltran threw touchdown passes to Antonio Llorenas, Jonathan King and Brandon Scales of 5, 54, and 16 yards. Beltran's pass to King came on a fake punt.
