CITY SECTION ROUNDUP: LYONS SAVES CLEVELAND.

Byline: Daily News

Ronnie Lyons scored the game-winning touchdown with 30 seconds remaining to lead Cleveland of Reseda to a 28-23 victory over host Grant of Van Nuys Friday.

Lyons had 160 yards and scored twice for Cleveland (3-1), offsetting a 330-yard performance by Grant's Perry Clayton.

Lyons' touchdowns of 1 and 4 yards and Antwine Barfield's 45-yard pass to Randy Bundy accounted for three unanswered touchdowns for Cleveland late in the game.

Clayton, who scored on runs of 5 and 77 yards, had a chance to seal the victory a play after Cleveland had cut the Lancers' lead to 23-21. However, his 80-yard touchdown run was called back because of a clipping (1) Cutting off the outer edges or boundaries of a word, signal or image. Grant then turned over the ball on downs and allowed the Cavaliers to march 54 yards in 3:31 for the game-winner.

The Lancers led 10-0 at halftime thanks to the defensive play of Moises Saldivar, who had two key tackles and 1 1/2 sacks, holding the Cleveland offense to just 42 yards.

Cleveland, which rebounded and gained 235 yards in the second half, got its first touchdown on Barfield's 41-yard pass to Swrgio Marquez at 4:41 of the third quarter.
