The Lancers had a 30-point lead midway through the fourth quarter when they grew tired of overly physical play by the Dons. The referees decided to end the game after a shoving match that could have escalated into a fight.

Grant offensive lineman Jonathan Fonua, who was at the center of the fracas, will miss next week's first round of the City Section Championship Bracket playoffs.

``(The Dons) were losing and they tried to get us out of our game,'' said Grant quarterback Julius Roberts, who finished with 119 yards on 11-of-17 passing. ``We looked bad because they did get our heads out of the game and we lost a key lineman. This is a bad way to go into the playoffs.''

Sophomore running back Anthony Dickson had 23 of the Lancers' rushing 28 attempts and finished with 118 yards. He scored on touchdown runs of 5 and 43 yards.
