CITY SECTION ROUNDUP: CONTRES' 6 TDS POWER SYLMAR TO 69TH STRAIGHT LEAGUE VICTORY.

David Contres scored six touchdowns and ran for 149 yards on 18 carries to lead Sylmar (2-0, 5-2) to a 56-15 win over Van Nuys Friday, its 69th consecutive league victory.

One of Contres' scores in the Valley Mission contest came through the air on a 68-yard throw from John Valdez. Valdez finished 8-of-11 passing for 171 yards and two touchdowns.

Cornerback Donnell Livingston had a pair of interceptions for Sylmar, both leading to touchdowns.

Van Nuys (0-2, 1-6) got to within 21-7 in the second quarter after a Yesel Manrique 1-yard touchdown run. Manrique and running back Abel Pulido combined for 90 of the Wolves' 162 total yards on offense.
