The Spartans senior, who came within a stroke of equaling his all-time best of 66 - shot at Soule Park in Ojai - started fast with a 31 on the par-37 front nine and finished with five birdies and an eagle to take a five stroke lead into today's final round at Wilson. Doo Kang of San Pedro holds second at 72, followed by Eagle Rock's Leif Hansen 'Leif Christopher Hansen' (b.1957) is the founder and owner of a chain of auto body shops, Leif's Auto Collision Centers, one of Oregon's largest and fastest growing automotive businesses. (73) and defending City champion Edward Turner Edward Turner (January 24, 1901 – August 15, 1973) was a famous British motorcycle designer. He was born in London, on the day King Edward VII was proclaimed King. [1]. The team competition is a lot closer, with first-place Chatsworth ((396) holding a one-stroke lead over defending champion defending champion n (SPORT) → defensor/a m/f del título defending champion n (Sport) → champion(ne) en titre Palisades, which is bidding for its 13th title in 32 years. Granada Hills, third at 403, remains in contention for its sixth title in eight years, and San Pedro (406), Grant (411) and Hamilton (412) are also within reach of the lead as competition switches to the tougher Wilson course today, starting at 11 a.m. ``It's going to be a dogfight,'' said Palisades coach James Paleno, whose young Dolphins included a 79 by junior Mark Czernin, an 80 by junior Marcus Player and 82s by sophomores Andy Van Leesten and Michael Zweig. Paleno, who produced a freshman City champion last year when Turner closed with a 7-under 65 at Wilson, said a two-round total of 790 would be a tremendous score and 800 might be enough to win. Chatsworth, attempting to give coach Dick Pendergast a City title in his final season - he retires next month after 41 years in the City schools - got in position for a second title in four years thanks to strong play by Josh McIntire (75) and Adam Petrocelli (76). ``That would be very nice,'' said Pendergast, who directed the Chancellors to their first City championship in 1997, was second in '98 and third last season. Granada Hills, which shared the City 6-A league title at 11-1 with Chatsworth this season, got a 76 from sophomore Phil Martinez, but coach Joe White felt his team did not play to its potential. ``My team shot very, very badly,'' White said, ``but we're still in the hunt.'' Grant, which won City in 1991 and '92, stayed close, thanks to Jason Joyal (78) and Trevor Leb (79). Coach Howie Levine also thought his team got good efforts from freshmen Jesse Brackett (88) and Gabe Hernandez (85), and likes their chances for the future. ``We had hoped we could sneak up Verb 1. sneak up - advance stealthily or unnoticed; "Age creeps up on you" creep up advance, march on, move on, progress, pass on, go on - move forward, also in the metaphorical sense; "Time marches on" on some people,'' said Levine, whose Lancers lanc·er n. 1. At stake, besides individual and team titles, are berths in the June 6CIF/SCGA championship at SCGA SCGA Southern California Golf Association SCGA Software Carrier Group Alarm Members Club in Murietta. The top two teams and top 10 individuals not members of those teams qualify. CAPTION(S): photo Photo: Defending-champion Edward Turner of Palisades is tied for fourth, shooting a 74 Tuesday.
