 defending-champion Granada Hills High to an eight-stroke lead in the first round of the City Section boys' golf championship at Griffith Park Griffith Park is a large public park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,210 acres (17 km²) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America. .

The City 6-A League-champion Highlanders, bidding for a 10th section title, lead the 36-hole competition at 394, followed by Venice (402), Palisades Palisades, cliffs along the west bank of the Hudson River, NE N.J. and SE N.Y., extending from N of Jersey City, N.J., to the vicinity of Piermont, N.Y., with a general altitude of from 350 ft to 550 ft (107–168 m).  and Westchester (both at 407), San Pedro (411) and Monroe of North Hills (417) after the opening round at Harding G.C.
