Byline: Daily News

The Gardena High boys' soccer team won't soon forget Moises Gomez.

The Grant of Van Nuys senior scored a school-record five goals Thursday in the Lancers' 7-1 City Section first-round playoff victory against the visitors.

Gomez, who committed to play for Terry Davila at Cal State Northridge, has scored 41 goals in 20 games this season and has been especially effective of late.

He scored four goals in the team's regular-season finale and will need to do more of the same if the Lancers lanc·er

Geraldo Alcantara scored twice for Poly and Christian Guardado added the third goal. Guardado also missed a penalty kick in overtime, sailing the ball over the cross bar after Jefferson was called for a handball handball
