CITY SECTION: PATRIOTS NOW 5-0 IN LEAGUE.

Milton Knox just keeps rolling along.

Knox rushed 22 times for 163 yards and three touchdowns in just three quarters of play to lead host Birmingham High of Lake Balboa to a 27-0 victory against El Camino Real of Woodland Hills in a West Valley League game Thursday night.

Birmingham's James Beloff completed 10 of 18 passes for 177 yards, including a 74-yard touchdown to Marcus Culver-Dupree in the second quarter. Knox rushed for two touchdowns in the quarter as the Patriots (7-3 overall, 5-0 league) took a 20-0 lead.

ECR (2-8, 1-4) did not complete a pass and finished with just 82 yards rushing on 42 carries.

Taft 55, Granada Hills 14: D.J. Morgan and Jarrel Holland combined for 195 yards rushing and five touchdowns to lead the host Toreadors of Woodland Hills (6-4, 4-1).

Morgan had just three carries, but two of those went for touchdowns, including a 97-yard score in the third quarter. Holland added 82 yards on the ground on five carries and rushed for three scores, including a 52-yard run on Taft's first possession.

For Granada Hills (5-5, 2-3), Anthony Dawkins had 112 yards on 30 carries.

Chatsworth 50, Cleveland 15: Greg Jimenez threw for 230 yards and six touchdowns as the host Chancellors (7-3, 3-2) won their final West Valley League game.

James Walker scored the final Chatsworth touchdown on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter to reach 1,003 yards rushing for the season. He finished the game with 134 yards on 19 carries.

Khalil Paden rushed for 106 yards for Cleveland of Reseda (1-9, 0-5).

SUNSET SIX

North Hollywood 15, Grant 7: Rudy Perez rushed for 197 yards on 31carries and scored on a 5-yard run to lead the visiting Huskies (6-3, 3-2) to the victory.

Grant (7-2, 3-3) struggled on offense as star tailback Fred Winborn nursed a sore ankle. The Lancers were held to minus-5 yards of total offense in the first half as Winborn only touched the ball twice.

In the second half, Winborn broke free for a 74-yard touchdown run, cutting the Grant deficit to 9-7. Winborn had 125 yards on nine carries and also made an interception. He left the game with 6:36 remaining and didn't return.

Canoga Park 44, Hollywood 14: Jose Martinez rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries as the Hunters (8-3, 5-1) defeated the host Sheiks (3-7, 1-5). Teammate Erle Eddy passed for 202 yards and two TDs.

The Sheiks' Gyasi Rivers rushed for 146 yards and two scores.

Poly 24, Van Nuys 20: Cesar Valencia scored on a 2-yard run with 1:02 left to give visiting Poly of Sun Valley the victory. The touchdown capped an 11-play, 75-yard drive that saw Poly (4-5, 3-2) convert two fourth-down attempts.

Van Nuys (0-9, 0-5) took a 20-17 lead with 7:12 left on a 30-yard touchdown pass from Marcus Miller to Geo Wade.

VALLEY MISSION

Reseda 26, San Fernando 19: Giovannie Dixon ran for 238 yards on 26 carries, including a 90-yard touchdown run at the end of the third quarter, as the Regents (6-3, 1-3) won on the road. Dixon also returned a free kick 70 yards for a touchdown following a safety.

San Fernando (7-3, 3-1) moved inside Reseda's 20-yard line in the final minute, but the Regents forced their fifth turnover of the night.
