Andre Harris scored on touchdown runs of 2, 5 and 5 yards for Taft (10-0, 5-0) and finished with 35 yards on four carries. Teammate Exavier Johnson completed 8 of 16 passes for 143 yards.

El Camino Real (3-7, 2-3) had 51 yards of total offense.

 Denson's 47-yard touchdown reception from Jeremy Obando with 4:02 remaining proved to be the winner in a West Valley league finale at Granada Hills.

Chris Martinez rushed for a career-high 150 yards on 21 carries, including first-half touchdowns of 30, 16, and 1 yard to lead Cleveland.

Granada Hills' Josh Streid gained a game-high 185 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns. Streid's 60-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter gave the Highlanders a 23-19 lead.

With the victory, Cleveland not only stayed out of last place in the league but wrapped up an invitational in·vi·ta·tion·al

--Birmingham 42, Chatsworth 7: Milton Knox Jr. ran for four touchdowns to lead Birmingham of Lake Balboa Balboa, town (1990 pop. 2,751), Colón prov., in the former Panama Canal Zone, on the Gulf of Panama. Knox had the first two scores of the game, thefirst on a 53-yard run and the second on a 1-yard run.

But Birmingham continued to dominate in the second half. Knox found his openings in the third quarter, scoring on runs of 12 and 10 yards. He led all rushers with 189 yards.

The Patriots capped their scoring when quarterback James Beloff connected with Willie Candler for a 44-yard touchdown pass.

--Sylmar 55, Monroe 0: C.J. Gable gable

 rushed for 151 yards on 11 carries and scored on touchdowns runs of 1, 2 and 24 yards for Sylmar (10-0, 5-0), which clinched the league title with the victory over host Monroe of North Hills (1-9,1-4).

Reseda 47, Van Nuys 31: Senior Larry Looney rushed for 303 yards and five touchdowns on 31 carries for host Reseda (3-7, 2-3) in a victory against Van Nuys (1-9, 1-4).

Looney scored on runs of 4, 6, 3, 44 and 11 yards.

SUNSET SIX

--Canoga Park 26, Hollywood 18: Canoga Park (7-3, 3-2) got a defensive stop on fourth-and-7 with 1:13 remaining to thwart a comeback bid by visiting Hollywood (3-7, 1-4).

The Hunters saw their 20-point first half lead shrink to two points late in the fourth quarter, but a 22-yard touchdown run by senior Andrew Argott provided some breathing roon and the final margin of victory.

Canoga Park's Jose Martinez had 187 yards rushing.

Hollywood scored its first touchdown on a 55-yard interception return by Jesse Rivers. Teammate Bryan Mejia scored on a 34-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

--Grant 28, North Hollywood 26:Fred Winborn rushed for 273 yards and two touchdowns and also returned an interception 104 yards for a score to lead visiting Grant (4-6, 3-2) to the victory against North Hollywood.

Hamadicko Njimboa rushed 27 times for 230 yards and scored on runs of 1, 30 and 7 yards for North Hollywood (4-6, 2-3).

Jake Tepper caught a 30-yard touchdown pass to put Grant ahead 28-20. After Njimboa's third scoring run got North Hollywood to within two points, Tepper intercepted North Hollywood's 2-point conversion attempt to preserve the win.

Verdugo Hills 21, Poly 16: Verdugo Hills' defense stopped Poly's Jesus Reyes short of the goal line as time expired to give the Dons their first outright Sunset Six title since 1980 with a victory against visiting Poly of Sun Valley.

Bryce Freeman returned the opening kickoff of the second half to give Verdugo Hills (7-2, 5-0) a 21-2 lead, but Poly responded in the fourth quarter as Reyes, who had 233 yards on 35 carries, rushed for touchdowns of 1 and 3 yards to make it 21-16 with 2:34 remaining.

Castanos rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half, as Eagle Rock defeated host Los Angeles to earn a share of its second straight league title.

With the victory, the Eagles (8-2, 5-1) moved into a two-way tie for first place with Franklin of Highland Park Highland Park.

Eagle Rock's Jose Navarro returned the game's opening kickoff 75 yards for a school-record fourth kickoff return for a touchdown this year. Navarro's quick strike set the tone, as Eagle Rock stormed to a 42-0 halftime lead over Los Angeles (1-8,1-5).

Eagle Rock pulled most of its starters at halftime, including quarterback Jeremy Camacho, who was 9 of 14 for 200 yards and two touchdowns in the first half. Camacho finished the year with 1,768 yards and 20 touchdowns in eight games.
