In order to enter the Senate he had to resign as Councilman for the 7th District on the Los Angeles City , who succeeded Alarcon, said he wanted his office also involved in the work with a community advisory panel on where the memorial should be located. The advisory panel is composed of police and fire representatives as well as members of the Recreation and Parks Department. The committee was told no permanent site has been selected for the memorial, although aides to Alarcon said they are looking at placing it in the Van Nuys Civic Center. |
