CITY OF LOS ANGELES GURU GAINS HONORS

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The City of Los Angeles' recycling ad campaign was recently named one of the year's best pro bono ads by Adweek magazine. The "guru" series, featuring Chevy Chase, was chosen for "creating a sense that we're all in all this together."
All four waste reduction advertisements include the city's toll- free information number 800-773-CITY, which continues to provide automated service to residents about recycling, trash collection, waste reduction, backyard composting and special events.
This is the third award garnered by the City of Los Angeles Recycling program. In July, the program received the Heinz Award for the most innovative recycling program and in November the city was honored with City and State magazine's Environmental Achievement Award.
