CITY OF BROOKLYN PARK SELECTS ULTIMAP SYSTEM
ST. PAUL, Minn., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Ultimap Corporation

announced today that the City of Brooklyn Park, Minn., has purchased an UltiMap Geographic Information System, or GIS. The system will be connected to the city's existing computerized databases via Ultimap's Live-Link data server, which will allow users to see their data linked to geographical information on the map.
Several city departments plan to become beneficiaries of the new technology. Public Works will consolidate all utility information on one map, thus making it possible to see at a glance which parcels are served by water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and street improvements. The Planning Department will use the system to automate the process of notifying property owners of nearby zoning variance requests and conditional use permits. And, the Police Department plans to perform geographic analysis of crimes and violations on the GIS which will help to utilize resources more effectively in combating crime.
Ultimap Corporation, of St. Paul, is a leading supplier of geographic information products and services, providing solutions that meet critical management needs of local governments and utilities.
