City Councilman Mike Hernandez said the activity is an ongoing problem, as is parking on streets near the stadium. He wants increased fines or greater police presence. ``It just seems to me we had more police out at the Coliseum Coliseum: see Colosseum. when the Raiders were playing than we do at Dodger Stadium,'' Hernandez said. ``Part of it is a resource matter. If we impose higher fines, maybe that can cover the cost of having the police there.'' Dodgers officials did not return telephone calls, but Hernandez said they had suggested to him that the city be more aggressive in enforcing anti-scalping laws. Hernandez said he also is looking into taking other steps to meet the concerns of residents to ban parking outside of the stadium by requiring parking permits. ``We could just have our traffic control officers out there giving out tickets and we could stop that fairly quickly,'' Hernandez said. |
