Marlon Lucky gained nearly 400 yards of total offense and scored a school-record eight touchdowns for North Hollywood in a 62-35 victory over visiting Westchester in a first-round City Invitational game Thursday.

Lucky, the MVP of the Sunset Six League, gained 301 yards rushing, had 93 receiving yards and a touchdown reception for North Hollywood (7-3).

North Hollywood took an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter on touchdown runs of 16 and 73 yards by Lucky and a fumble return for a score by Edwin Cruz.

Westchester then stormed back behind Greg Ray, who rushed for 289 yards on 21 carries and scored six touchdowns.

At halftime, Lucky had 189 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Teammate William Cowan was 11 for 16 for 123 yards passing and one touchdown.

--Locke 34, Cleveland 21: Julius Killings rushed for 160 yards on 22 carries, had a 6-yard touchdown run and caught a 32-yard touchdown pass as Locke defeated Cleveland of Reseda (7-4) in the first round at home.

De'von Hall completed 6 of 11 passes for 124 yards but threw two second-half interceptions to ruin a pair of potential scoring drives.

Jevonte Taylor and Steven Brown rushed for 257 yards and 114 yards, respectively, for Locke of Los Angeles (6-5). Taylor carried the ball 14 times and had scoring runs of 80, 76 and 6 yards.

Cleveland was undone by four turnovers. It gave up 395 yards rushing and 495 yards of total offense.

--Marshall 21, Grant 14: Visiting 12th-seeded Marshall of Los Angeles (7-4) upset fifth-seeded Grant of Van Nuys (6-4) in an opening-round game.

Grant led by one point with 9:35 remaining when Terrell Graham lost a fumble. Marshall then went on a 10-play, 80-yard drive capped by Richie Samoya's game-winning 31-yard touchdown run.

Grant's next possession ended on a fumble and its final drive ended with four incomplete passes.

--Fairfax 30, Verdugo Hills 7: Gabriel Nguyen scored on a 4-yard pass from Greg Byrum on fourth-and-goal in the third quarter but, Verdugo Hills of Tujunga (4-7) fell to host Fairfax of Los Angeles (6-5).

Verdugo Hills had a hard time stopping Fairfax running back Patrick Hill, who rushed for 100 yards on 16 carries, including touchdowns of 10 and 1 yard.

Nguyen finished with four catches for 47 yards and Byrum completed 6 of 15 passes for 51 yards

--South Gate 19, Kennedy 13: Kennedy of Granada Hills (3-8) could not stop defensive end Ben Viramontes, who entered the game with 32 sacks, from making big plays and lost at home in a first-round game.

Viramontes returned a fumble 95 yards for a score in the second quarter for South Gate (6-5), which held Kennedy without a first down until the second half.
