CITY INVITATIONAL BRACKET: SAN FERNANDO EXPLODES FOR 515 YARDS.

Ninth-seeded San Fernando San Fernando, city, Argentina
San Fernando (săn fərnăn`dō), city (1991 pop. 144,761), Buenos Aires prov., E Argentina. It is a district administrative center in the Greater Buenos Aires area.
 High amassed 515 yards while defeating eighth-seeded Eagle Rock 40-20 Thursday afternoon in a City Invitational playoff opener at Eagle Rock.

Ramon Perry, William Lang William Lang was the coach of the Maryland Terrapins football team from 1908-1909. Lang co-coached the team with Dr. Edward Larkin in 1909. He compiled a 5-13 record.

, Will Germain, Terrance Calloway and Bobby Stanley scored touchdowns for the Tigers (6-5). Stanley rushed for 138 yards on 13 carries with touchdown runs of 3 and 72 yards. His 72-yarder came one play after Eagle Rock's 12-play drive to open the third quarter stalled at San Fernando's 28-yard line.

Quarterback Ruben Nevarez completed 9 of 13 passes for 226 yards with touchdowns of 53 and 17 yards to Perry and Lang.

Germain complemented San Fernando's balanced offense with 81 yards on 14 carries, including a 10-yard score.

Torwin Session, the Eagle Rock school-record passer who is expected to sign a letter of intent with the University of Washington next weekend, completed 14 of 25 passes for 209 yards to lead the Eagles (6-5).

Session connected with Jimmy Blunt on a 29-yard touchdown in the second quarter, giving Eagle Rock a short-lived 7-6 lead. Session's favorite target was Andrew Blunt, who finished with eight receptions for 167 yards.

Nick Valencia gained 61 yards on 10 carries with touchdowns of 13 and 3 yards for Eagle Rock.

``We missed tackles tonight,'' Cleveland assistant coach Scott Reisbord said. ``They just scored more points than us. It was a pretty good football game.''

The Cavaliers (67-5) made a nice try at a comeback when Barfield connected with Randy Bundy (four receptions for 104 yards) for fourth- quarter touchdowns of 53 and 28 yards. However, Narbonne answered each time as Cleveland gave up 424 of 493 yards on the ground.

Quarterback Monte Long completed only 3 of 9 passes for 13 yards for Narbonne, but rushed for a 1-yard score to give the Gauchos (6-5) a 21-13 lead early in the fourth quarter. The score was set up when O'Keith ran 62 yards to the Cleveland 1-yard line.

--Fremont 21, North Hollywood 20: The fifth-seeded Pathfinders (6-5) of Los Angeles outscored the Huskies (5-6) in the second half to advance to the second round.

Roosevelt (8-3), the No. 2 seed, scored 28 second-quarter points to put the game away.

The Wolves advanced the ball past the 50-yard line only three times in the game. Roosevelt led in total offense 527 yards to 207 yards.

The Wolves' defense was led by linebacker Scott Hart, who had nine tackles and a fumble recovery.

He has been a member of the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators for his entire career, which began with the 1997-98 season.  had 112 all- purpose yards and the No. 1 seeded Panthers took care of 16th-seeded Bell.

Mighty Eagles running back Melvin Wattree carried the ball 27 times for 189 yards, including a 77-yard run in the fourth quarter. Ironically Wattree's 189 yards was 3 yards less than the entire Gardena offense gained.

Bell went up early, scoring on its first drive of the game, but three interceptions and two lost fumbles kept them out of the end zone the rest of the night.
