Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
High School's stadium and install a new parking lot will be paid for by city redevelopment funds.

The project calls for building new home-side bleachers with seating for about 2,500 people and restroom and storage facilities underneath, a two- stop elevator that will provide access to the press box and observation decks, and home and visitor ticket booths.

``It's kind of exciting,'' Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County.

The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale
board President Al Beattie said. ``This is a district facility and it's being modernized for several reasons. It looks run-down run·down

The board at last week's meeting approved contracts for architectural services for the project. The district is estimating the parking-lot project will cost $1.9 million, and the stadium modernization $3.3 million.

A total of $3.7 million will come from city redevelopment funds, and the remainder of the project's cost will be paid for by district maintenance funds.

The project will occur in two phases. The parking lot construction will take place in the summer of 2005. The work will include resurfacing of all paved areas, perimeter fencing, landscaping, and lighting.

The stadium construction is set to begin in the fall of 2005 and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2006.

The work will probably interfere with sporting events, especially in the winter and spring, district officials said.

``We are trying to work the time frame to minimize impact,'' Assistant Superintendent Assistant Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was a rank used by police forces in the British Empire. It was usually the lowest rank that could be held by a European officer, most of whom joined the police at this rank.  Jeff Foster Jeffrey Douglas Foster (born January 16 1977, in San Antonio, Texas) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Indiana Pacers of the NBA.  said. ``The impact of the site will be have to be worked out. It will affect winter and spring sports for that year.''

Trustee Donita Winn said Antelope Valley High might have to double up at one of the other schools.

Other future improvements being considered include new turf, all-weather track and a field house with a snack bar, toilets and lockers, but district officials couldn't say when they might be added.
