CITY CANDIDATES IN SIMI BRIEFED ON RESOURCES.

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  - The City Manager's Office held an orientation Saturday to inform and provide City Council and mayoral candidates with resources as they embark on their campaigns.

During the session held at the City Hall Community Room on Saturday morning, representatives from various city branches were on hand to discuss the city's organization, capabilities and current activities.

, chairman of the watchdog group Citizens' Election Advisory Commission, extended his group's resources to the candidates.

``We review the candidates and their campaign finance statements,'' Stull said. ``We're here to let them know that we can assist them with any questions they may have.''

Stull added that it's important for the candidates to have resources to run a productive campaign and said the orientation provided an overview of how the city works to facilitate those campaigns.
