CITY, LAUSD MAKE DEAL FOR SCHOOL.

City Hall had stalled talks in part because the district had signed on to a lawsuit filed by the community college district and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority against the DWP. Officials said they are prohibited by court order from discussing the suit.

A council committee on Tuesday shelved the issue for two weeks. But on Thursday, Mayor James Hahn and LAUSD Superintendent Roy Romer agreed to complete the deal, officials said.

The matter needs to go before a City Council committee before moving on to the full council for a final vote.
