CITROENS GET FRESH.

CITROEN has fitted its C5 saloon - my favourite family saloon - with a couple of new engines. First, the current 2.0-litre petrol petrol: see gasoline.  engine has been dropped in a skip and replaced by a petrol 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with 155bhp. It's the same BMW-built engine that Mini and Peugeot use.

Second, both the 2.0 and 2.2-litre diesel engines have been junked junk 1

1. Discarded material, such as glass, rags, paper, or metal, some of which may be reused in some form.

 in favour of a new 160bhp motor. Both engines are cleaner which means cheaper road tax.
