CITING POSITIVE NBC RESULTS, GE ASKS JOURNALISTS TO REPROGRAM WORD PROCESSORS

FAIRFIELD, Conn., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by General Electric:
GE today respectfully asked journalists to reprogram their word processors to remove "beleaguered" and "embattled" as adjectives describing its National Broadcasting Company unit. The company said it believed those words might actually be programmed into journalists' computers.
GE said NBC's pretax income and cash flow are up dramatically in 1993. Cash flow will be close to $300 million and pretax income will approach $350 million for the year. Additionally, NBC is currently in second place in ratings for the key adult 18-49 category.
