CITIGROUP INC.
CITIGROUP INC. and four other financial and technology companies
have formed a joint venture to provide financial services, including
payment processing, for online marketers. The new company, to be known
as FinancialSettlementMatrix.com, will provide a "trusted financial
payments infrastructure," says Ann Cairns, global e-solutions head
for Citigroup's electronic business division. Participants, in
addition to Citigroup, include Wells Fargo & Co., software publisher
i2 Technologies, financial services software provider S1 Corp., and
Enron Broadband Services, a bandwidth services provider subsidiary of
Enron Corp.
