have formed a strategic alliance and signed an agreement to market products that ultimately will enable healthcare providers to optimize patient care from all locations within their enterprise.

Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will retain their identities in the marketplace. DataView Imaging International will continue to sell its leading-edge telemedicine and imaging solutions. CITATION will integrate DataView's imaging capabilities into its clinical solution offerings. The combined offering will give healthcare providers access to treatment data from anywhere they see patients.

In today's healthcare environment, physicians and clinicians who treat patients at hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and HMOs need access to patient treatment data -- including X-rays and laboratory test results -- at all of those locations. The strategic alliance between DataView and CITATION enables clinicians to, for example, access a patient X-ray stored at the hospital where it was taken and where the patient is being treated, view it at the outpatient clinic where the physician is practicing, highlight a specific area in the X-ray and make notations using voice dictation and, in a matter of seconds, re-transmit the X-ray to the original source.
