the notification received, "CIS Technologies, Inc. has been granted full accreditation by the Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC EHNAC Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation Commission ). This unconditional accreditation status is granted only to those companies that have met or exceeded all of the Commission's standards." Standards address such issues as privacy and confidentiality, technical performance, business practices and resources such as dedicated, off-site backup that can be utilized immediately in the event of a disaster. While a relatively new process, some states are already recognizing EHNAC accreditation as the standards companies must meet in order to process Medicare claims.

According to Angela K. Lux, CIS vice president and chief technology officer, "The accreditation process is an excellent self-measurement tool. In addition to measuring our performance against some very exacting standards, the on-site visit by EHNAC provided additional input and suggestions which will help us to continually improve our efforts.

"Because we process some 2.5 million healthcare claims every month -- with a value between $4 and $5 billion -- our systems have been designed from the very beginning to be as accurate and fast as possible. Just missing a day or two of processing Medicare claims, for example, could prevent some healthcare facilities from making payroll. That's why it's important to know we meet and exceed industry standards -- and why our dedicated, off-site backup system is so critical." Lux concluded.
