CIS TECHNOLOGIES, INC. SIGNS MAJOR CONTRACT WITH BJC BARNES JEWISH CHRISTIAN HEALTH SYSTEM.

TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 1995--CIS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:CISI) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Hospital Cost Consultants (HCC) has signed a $1.3 million agreement to implement managed care systems for St. Louis, Missouri-based BJC Barnes Jewish Christian Health System (BJC). HCC will implement its Contract Management and Data Management systems across fourteen BJC provider entities totaling over 3,400 beds. This agreement represents a BJC corporate-level strategic commitment to HCC and its managed care solutions.

Each hospital will have independent systems, with summary data residing at the corporate level. This provides the greatest flexibility to individual sites, yet provides cross-entity reporting and analysis. In addition to the DISTINCTION: Contract Management system, BJC has purchased 35 licenses for HCC's DOMAIN product. Using DOMAIN, a client-server GUI data access and analysis tool, BJC will be able to provide easy, immediate access to critical operational and management managed care data throughout its fourteen hospital facilities.

The fourteen hospitals, located in Illinois and Missouri, are: Alton Memorial Hospital, Barnes Hospital, Boone Hospital Center, Christian Hospital Northeast and Northwest, Barnes St. Peters Hospital, Barnes West County Hospital, St. Louis Children's Hospital, Fayette County Hospital, Hedrick Medical Center, Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Parkland Health Center, and Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital.

In total, the committee evaluated six vendors before deciding on HCC. "Following an in-depth review of managed care applications, HCC proved to be the winner. The latest version of the contract management system is comprehensive and flexible enough to meet the changing payer requirements," said Vonderheide.
