CIRCUIT CITY STORES, INC., REPORTS JULY SALES

RICHMOND, Va., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Circuit City Stores, Inc. (NYSE: CC), today reported July sales of $308.2 million, which represents a 26 percent increase from July 1992 sales of $245.2 million and a 7 percent increase in comparable store sales.
"July's total sales growth reflects the continued success of Circuit City's geographic expansion program," said Richard L. Sharp, president and chief executive officer. "Since July 1992, we have opened 41 Superstores, including our first nine stores in Boston and our first three stores in Chicago.
