The download-to-own model is a relatively new element for CinemaNow, which previously had been exclusively a rental downloading service that already had distribution agreements with some of the major studios.

``As opposed to renting, you are not limited to a 24-hour viewing period so there is a more flexible user experience,'' said CinemaNow President Bruce Eisen. ``There is also more convenience than going to the video store. You can order a movie and be watching it within 30 seconds.''

The television element of the Fox deal will include television shows from the Fox broadcast network and the Fox-owned cable networks FX, Fuel TV and Speed.

They include the first season of the Fox drama ``Prison Break,'' early seasons of ``24'' and such classic shows as ``Buffy the Vampire vampire, in folklore, animated corpse that sucks the blood of humans. ``The TV is particularly exciting for us,'' said Eisen. ``Frankly, the next big push for CinemaNow is to really get into top-quality network content on the site, both broadcast and pay networks shows.''
