CINAR Launches Design Group.

CINAR Corporation (NASDAQ:CINR)(TSE:CIF.A.)(TSE:CIF.B.) announces that its graphics department has grown into a full service design agency, the CINAR Design Group. It will cater to the design needs of CINAR's Entertainment and Education divisions, as many of our successful children's properties are carried into licensing and merchandising, advertising and promotions, on-line initiatives and educational products. The Group will be headed by Jean Gauvin who has been promoted from Artistic Director to Vice President, CINAR Design Group. Mr. Gauvin will report directly to Lesley Taylor, the newly appointed Executive Vice President, Productions, for CINAR Entertainment.

This announcement follows last week's appointment of Peter Moss as President of CINAR Entertainment and that division's new structure.

The CINAR Design Group currently employs twelve full-time artists, illustrators and designers, as well as several freelancers.

Prior to joining CINAR in 1996, Mr. Gauvin was Art Director for Montreal design agency Catalpa Design where he worked on various accounts, such as Molson-O'Keefe Breweries, Merck-Frosst Canada, Cascades, Culinar and The Royal Bank. He is also the recipient of various international and national design awards.
