grandmother. Aimed at a primetime family audience, it should entertain anyone who is or remembers being a teenager. The series reveals what it really means to be nearly fifteen Treasure shops 'til she drops, changes best friends every five minutes, never tidies her room and is a 'sometimes' vegetarian. Meanwhile Mum hysterically attempts to juggle parenthood with her own life while Grandma is always on hand to point out her failings.

TREASURE is written by Michele Hanson and adapted from her popular newspaper column of the same name. The TV series originated with UK animation producer Halo Productions. The series is currently in production at CINAR Animation in Montreal. Co-writer for the series is Jenny Landreth. The characters are designed by illustrator Christine Roche. TREASURE is produced by Cassandra Schafhausen for CINAR and by Orly Yadin and Sylvie Bringas for Halo Productions. It is directed by Francois Perreault.

"Over the years, many of CINAR's award-winning series have been brought to British audiences by the BBC, said David Ferguson, Vice President, CINAR Europe and Managing Director, FilmFair. "Now we have taken our relationship to a new level since this is our first official Canada-U.K co-production agreement with the British public broadcaster."

"TREASURE is a wonderful insight into the dynamics between three generations and we are very pleased to be working with CINAR and Halo on our first transatlantic co-production," added Colin Rose, Head of Animation for BBC Animation.
