CIMLINC Releases V1.2 of the Linkage Family of Solutions.

and its Manufacturing Solutions Group announces the newest release of its Linkage Family of Solutions.

Linkage Solutions represent a new type of software which enables companies to dramatically reduce their product design and production cycle times. Linkage Solutions are targeted at manufacturers of large, complex products such as heavy equipment, aircraft and aircraft sub-assemblies, and industrial fabrication centers.

These companies have a unique set of problems:

the cycle times are very long;

the products are usually configured to the specific needs of

each customer;

and the information and documentation requirements are

exhaustive, before, during and after production.

Furthermore, these companies and their first tier suppliers are geographically dispersed.

Many of these companies, after investing millions of dollars in information technology, find their operations hampered by an inability to assemble and distribute the resulting knowledge quickly and effectively.

CIMLINC's off-the-shelf applications eliminate this barrier through their ability to electronically access and deliver graphical, textual, audio and video information from disparate systems across the organization. The Linkage Family of Solutions includes process enabling applications for manufacturing process planning, shop floor work instructions, concurrent engineering, engineering change management, non-conformance management, and quality and configuration management. Linkage is UNIX-based and operates on all popular platforms including HP, SUN, IBM and Digital.

All Linkage applications received increased functionality as a part of release 1.2. Particular attention was given to Linkage Concurrent Engineering, Linkage Shop View, and Linkage Shop Floor Workflow. These applications impact the major business processes of discrete parts manufacturers. The enhanced functionality extends the range of use of the applications, and increases the integration across the application family.
