CIMATRON announces 8.0 version of CIMATRONit; New Release of Design-Through-Manufacture CAD/CAM Solution.

GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 1996--CIMATRON LTD. (NASDAQ: CIMTF) announces the latest version of the Cimatronit design through manufacturing engineering system, Version 8.0, which is a more advanced, faster system that allows users to design and manufacture more complex parts and assemblies than with previous versions.

The 8.0 release includes two new modules: MOLDdesign Module, a comprehensive mold making toolkit and CDM, Cimatron Data Management Module.

MOLDdesign brings a complete mold-making toolkit into Cimatronit. Using a familiar on-screen metaphor of mold plates, users convert the part, design to a mold, create inserts, and layout cooling channels. The finished mold design passes directly to Cimatron's NC modules for precision milling. CDM - the Cimatron Data Management module - tapes Cimatron's integral CAD/CAM database to support Project Data Management and Engineering Data Management schemes within the system and across the enterprise.

"The integrated technology concept that has always guided us matches exactly what the market is looking for now," said Eyal Dolev, Cimatron's Vice President, Marketing. "Today's design and manufacturing functions for one product are often shared by offices and factories around the world. CAD/CAM is no longer just computer-based drafting - our clients use Cimatronit to connect all players on a project."

Cimatron's integrated technology CAD/CAM solution combines design and modeling tools with command output to computerized numerically controlled (NC) manufacturing equipment. Cimatron's systems allow PC/Windows and UNIX platforms to work seamlessly with each other. Application modules for conceptual design, engineering, rendering, and manufacturing all present the same intuitive, easy-to-use interface to the user. The consistent user interface, unified database, and modular structure allow customized implementation of CAD/CAM across the business enterprise at reasonable costs.

Version 8.0 enters a market clamoring for integrated CAD/CAM solutions. Mold makers and other users around the world requiring powerful manufacturing abilities have already adopted Cimatron's products. The integrated structure and data import abilities of Cimatronit have answered the needs of major corporations, design specialists, and manufacturing subcontractors in varied industries, including automotive, electronic and plastics.

Founded in 1982, Cimatron Ltd. is a member of the Clal Computers and Technologies group, a part of Israel's Clal conglomerate, with well over 4.0 billion dollars in aggregate annual turnover. Cimatron shares are traded on the NASDAQ exchange under the symbol CIMTF.
